Posada La Rosaleda

Los Roques national park, Venezuela

Los Roques

Los Roques archipelago is located 45 minutes flight from Simón Bolívar International Airport of MaiquetÍa

It was declared National Park in 1972.

Its crystal clear waters and white coral sands welcome tourists from all over the world.

Los Roques consist of 350 islands but few of them can be visited as many are restricted to protect turtle nesting and various species of birds

The Gran Roques Island is the only populated island, with approximately 1.800 people (high season).

In this island you will find  posadas,  stores, a small clinic, the state offices and  airport, characterized by its small runway, which closes at 6 pm and doesn’t allowed departures or arrivals. The main reason is not the lack of lightning, but to allow people to practice sports like running or to take one of the most beautiful walks under the Caribbean stars.

Los Roques archipelago is the ideal place for those who want to practice kite surfing as throughout the year is very windy.  It is also a fantastic for those who love snorkeling; the deep waters have one of the most beautiful underwater fauna and flora of the Caribbean.  Or simply for those who just want to relax and walk along the beaches.

Fishermen will not be disappointed because Los Roques is considered one of the best bonefish fishing sites.

And for those who want to contribute a little bit to this paradise can visit Los Roques Science Foundation, which will be delighted to welcome you to Dos Mosquises key and inform you about the conservation of this important archipelago.

If you would like you could be part of the program called Adopt a turtle to promote the conservation of this endangered species.
